Taj Collection
Through this collection, Tanishq wanted to give a tribute to one of the crowning jewels of Mughal architecture and one of the seven wonders of the world - TAJ MAHAL.
I designed pieces that were aligned with the brand's target audience of discerning and quality first customers. Those who value tradition and craft but lead urban contemporary lifestyles. The earring is inspired by the dome and 'Jharokha' (Jalli window). Those days, jharokhas were made to let the sunlight stream into the house acting like a natural purdah (veil). The traditional looking design was handcrafted with Diamonds, Rosecuts, and strings of small cream pearls, like that of a veil, symbolizing the intricate latticed work.
I wanted to represent the craftsmanship and intricacy of this monument combining traditional elements and techniques in modern silhouettes. The necklace design is one such example of the fusion of old and new. Inspired by the beautiful inlay, the links were designed using two unique techniques of enamel and Nakkashi's work (Repousse Work).
