Spearheaded the precious jewellery range for RACE 2, a Bollywood Motion Picture. With this collaboration, Tanishq forayed into fashion jewelry for the first time. They subsequently launched DIVA, a sub-brand with 14kt modern gold jewellery. As a two-member team, we lead the entire project from the look to technique and from product development to production. The sole aim was to create designs that would give gold jewellery in India a completely new and acceptable makeover.

 

My approach was to develop a new emotional experience of owning and wearing jewellery. I wanted to push the envelope with a heterogeneous material mix and unconventional use of diamonds, coins, rutilated quartz, and 18kt textured gold chains. All the designs were conceptualized as per the character sketches of the lead actresses. The aesthetic was slick and stylish. We designed this collection keeping in mind the changing role of women and their emerging individualities in urban India.
