Egypt Collection
As designers through my initial years, I was somehow made to believe that design is all about the idea and that form and style are secondary. But over the years with my journey, I have come to disagree with that thought. Formal attributes including beauty are absolutely central when it comes to producing anything that should function well, even if it is an emotion.
A few years ago I was working on a Jewellery collection inspired by the Egyptian era. I spent a lot of time on research. I remember how everything that we discussed and read about or inspired from, was designed for beauty. That is when I realized how 'Beauty' is a fantastic strategy when it comes to sustainability. You keep it for generations, would like to reuse as it evokes a deep sense of delight to own/ see or use it.

The collection journeys deep into the heart of ancient Egyptian culture to rediscover the forgotten tales of its legacy, painting the essence of Egypt in vivid colours and reinterprets its mystique. I designed a range of products as an ode to this vibrant and beautiful era. Inspired from Horus’s falcon and the sacred cobra, the necklaces and earrings are handcrafted in combination with casted elements in 18kt gold with diamonds, semiprecious coloured stones, and Rosecuts.
The unusual style and form came from the research material I was immersed in. Something about the serpents and falcons felt really mysterious and reflected the thoughts and beliefs from back then. Through my designs, I made an attempt to recreate that enigma without losing its current relevance.
